Well hello there!

It seems you have stumbled across my humble little blog and it only seems right to tell you a bit about myself. I am your very typical twenty-something girl/woman (I never know which to use) living and studying in the not so sunny Netherlands (Although I’m English born and bred).

This blog started a few years ago as a kind of boredom project but now it seems like an excellent place to document the trials and tribulations of being young and living in a foreign land. I’ve got huuuundreds of post so if boredom ever hits you’ll find my first post ever here and you can pretty much work your way up from there (you will need a brew to keep you company though).

So shoes off, feet up and get reading!

    1. I took German at school but it wasn’t very intensive and I had forgotten it all by the time I moved 2 years later, so no I didn’t really. I went to classes here in Germany and worked with children who spoke exclusively German so I didn’t have a choice but to learn, why?:)

      1. Ich möchte lernen Deutsch in einige Monaten und es ein bisschen schwierig ist. I am curious about how other people have learned it, as I’ve only started about a month and a half ago. 🙂

      2. Sprechen, lesen und sprechen! Btw after ‘und’ comes another ‘hauptsatz’ so you can say ‘und es ist ein bisschen schwerig’. I used to take 4 hour classes every for 7 months, then go home and speak for 4 hours and I a, still very much learning!

  20. Loved your last paragraph. Enjoy the candles and the fizzy wine. Just remember after the fizzy wine is done those candles do need to be “turned off” at some point!

  29. Wow, we have so much in common! If you don’t mind me asking, how are you staying in Germany after your Au Pair job is over? I really want to move back to Germany after graduation but am not quite sure how to make that happen 🙂

    1. I’ve not been an Au Pair for a while. At the moment I have my own tutoring business, which is small but it’s enough to cover my rent. I would probably recommend just applying for jobs in restaurant and shops if you have the experience, although I was never very successful x
